Bugs, insects, and other worms often try and find higher ground in times of a flood. Well, this group of bugs found a nice spot and claimed it as their own. Maybe they even follow a hierarchical system where the bugs at the top rule over the bottom. In either case, there’s no space for humans. I also don’t think anyone will challenge them. They’ll be too creeped out to want anything to do with the higher grounds. People will probably take their chances walking in flood.
