Rob Lowe has sent the internet into a frenzy with his claims about Prince Harry wearing a ponytail. The actor is known for his versatile roles in different films, but he has taken up a side gig as a Royal Watcher now. He caught a glimpse of his neighbor (Prince Harry) in California, the actor revealed on ‘The Late Late Show’ with James Corden.
“I just ran into your countryman, the English treasure, Prince Harry, at the stoplight 10 minutes ago,” Lowe told the host. “He lives about a mile from me. He’s been very reclusive. Seeing him in the neighborhood is like seeing the Loch Ness Monster, and I finally saw him. I finally saw him driving his car.”
The 56-year-old actor continued that he “may have a scoop” on the Duke of Sussex.
“It was very, very quick — don’t totally quote me on it — but it looked like he’s wearing a ponytail,” Lowe said. “I’m just saying. It looked to me as a casual observer that his hair had grown very long and was pulled back very tightly by what I can only assume was a ponytail.”
The actor shared more details in another interview on Sunday Today with Willie Geist. “I don’t want to stake my long-term credibility as a celebrity stalker,” he laughed. “However, in the glimpse (I got) — and it was a glimpse — through the VIP, sexy, smoke-filled glass (window) of the (prince’s) vehicle, I think the dude was wearing a ponytail.”
“So, a big red ponytail in the back?” Geist asked.
“Well, here’s what it was. Let’s get specific. Let’s go on a deep dive. The man’s got good hair,” Lowe answered.
“His brother may (one day) be the king of England, but for my money, Harry’s got something better than his brother: hair,” he joked. “The British paparazzi are all over this one. … There’s gonna be (a) $500,000 bounty on the first photo of Harry with a ponytail, or not. … And I’m gonna be the bad guy.”
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry moved to California in March, after leaving their roles as senior working members of the royal family. They purchased a nine-bedroom mansion in Montecito, about 100 miles north of L.A., in the summer. The couple loves their time together in California.
“They both love California, and Santa Barbara has a magic to it — the mountains, oceans, vineyards, flowers, gardens,” said a source close to the couple. “It’s so beautiful.”
