Trans people often face adversity from a young age. According to the Human Rights Campaign, trans people are often rejected by their families. As a result, they indulge in activities and behavior that harm their health, trigger depression, and lead to a host of mental health problems. In extreme cases, familial rejection can lead to homelessness and suicide. Coming out as transgender is anything but easy. From a young age, trans people suffer from gender dysmorphia and are frequently taunted at school or by people who don’t know better.
